This small mod makes it more dangerous for units to cross desert, tundra, or jungle. If a unit ends its turn in one of these tiles, it takes 5% damage. If it survives 20 turns in the same harsh terrain, it will receive a promotion that prevents it from taking further damage.
Update, 8/30/11: Version 1.4 fixed a bug where barbarians were not taking hardship damage.
