Do you find it odd that Wheat is the only Farm resource in the entire game?
I did, but I quickly found that the reason for this is that modding in new Farm resource textures was thought to be impossible. Until now.
With help from Leugi, I present to you my new project: Bonus Resources Expanded.
The mod currently adds two new bonus resources: Rice and Maize. They come complete with Farm textures that are dynamically generated as normal Farms are, so they'll bend with slopes and hills and link together with adjacent Farms.
Rice is only found along Rivers. It adds +1 food to the tile, and an additional +2 food when improved with a Farm.
Maize is only found on flat Grasslands and Plains. It adds +1 food to the tile, and an additional +1 when improved with a Farm.
These resources are placed with Deep_Blue's resource placing lua mod. There are no changes to AssignSartingPlots.lua, so this mod is compatible with all other mods, even those that add their own custom resources.
The mod will also soon feature unique buildings that can only be built in cities that have access to the new resources. Plans include a Rice Paper building unlocked at Writing as well as a later-game Ethanol refinery to boost production.
This mod is still considered a beta, so please report any issues you may come across in the thread. I've tested everything fairly thoroughly, but a few issues linger. (Such as the red top-left corner on unimproved Rice, I have no idea where that is coming from.)
