1.0.0.38 Incorrect charge requirements tooltip for Apostles

The tooltip states you must have 2 charges to evangelise belief or start inquisition with an Apostle, but you actually need 3 charges now post patch. Annoying when you've deliberately used all but 2 charges.

I can confirm I also have this problem. At least upgrading your apostle to the necessary 3 uses allows you to still do it.

I'm wondering if the devs changed Apostles so they must be "unused" in order to use their special ability, but didn't change the tool-tip to reflect this.

Right now whenever you use a single charge of "spread religion" your apostles become unable to use evangelize/start inquisition.

This is a result of the change made in the Fall patch to increase the faith cost of buying religious units. To compensate for the increased cost, each religious unit was given 1 additional charge. An apostle needs at least its default number of charges to evangelize a belief. Pre-patch that was 2 charges, and post-patch that's now 3 chargs, but Firaxis didn't update the tooltip, so it still (incorrectly) states that 2 charges are required.

If you have an apostle that has more than 3 charges (e.g., generated in a city with a mosque (+1 charge) or with the Orator promotion (+2 charges)) you can use the extra charges first and still evangelize a belief.

I don't know how this is supposed to work, but there's a problem with how Apostles check to see if they have enough spread charges to activate Evangelize/Start Inquisition. (If I had to take a guess, it would be that there was a miscommunication between the people writing the UI/tooltip and the people writing the logic, but that's just a guess).

Yes the tooltip is bugged, you need 3 charges for both actions.

I had an Apostle that had a promotion that allowed an addition three charges, making a total of six charges, but after using just one of those six charges (five remaining), the options to start an Inquisition or Evangelize a Belief are greyed out. So these two actions as implemented don't require three or more charges, they require that no charge be used at all.

If you get the Orator promotion (+2 spread) you can safely use two charges. Just tried it. Don't know about other conditions (natural/world wonders).
