I did a search for OT topics with Rome in the title, but none were about the HBO series. Apologies if one exists somewhere already.

11 days and counting until Rome returns to HBO! Will Lucius keep his oath and remain loyal to Marc Antony? Will Pullo's 'friendship' with Octavian pull the Lucious and he apart if Lucius does remain loyal to Antony? What of Atia? Will Servilia have her vengence before young Octavian gains power, or will her relationship with Octavia mitigate things? And poor Eirine, will she who recently lost her love be able to forgive Pullo to the point that she would marry him?

I for one and just giddy with anticipation of the new season.

Don't forget 24!

Ah, the Lucius Vorenus <> Jack Bauer Texas steel cage death match, coming soon to a television near you!

I was under the impression that it was a joint BBC/HBO production. I'll check into it real quick, maybe HBO does just lease the rights to broadcast it from the BBC.

Jack Bauer obviously would win because he's a beast, and cannot die. Not even nerve gas can kill him.

Yeah, but he's no 13th, him.

EDIT: For Abaddon, from Wikipedia:

"Rome is a historical drama, produced in Italy for television by HBO (USA), the BBC (UK) and RAI (Italy). The show's first season originally aired on HBO between August 28 and November 20, 2005, subsequently broadcast on BBC Two between November 2, 2005 and January 4, 2006 and on Rai Due between March 17 and April 28, 2006."

Ah fair enough.. BBC billed it as their thing! :smug:

Well, to be fair to the BBC, HBO makes no mention of the BBC or RAI over here either. Maybe in the scrolling credits after the episode is over, but I've never read all of it.

:run:
Well, finally. They sure took their time.

I can't wait to see it. :)

As am I, good research! :goodjob:

I've got the first series on Boxset and watched the whole thing in a couple of days. Hopefully it will be even better second time around.

I also quite like the fact that apparently the Roman Aristocracy all spoke in accents remarkably similar to the English Upper Class. ;)

Oh, and Lucius Vorenus would stuff Jack Bauer in a short sword match. Jack's a gun man I'll give him that.

I thought it was a joint effort. American Money, British actors :smug:

Actually, you all speak with an ancient Roman accent! Londinium founders brought it with them to the British Isles. :)

Blast!

I was hoping you reffered to the Time Commanders show, with M2:TW being released and all. I want a medieval Time Commanders :(

Drat!

I've never heard that before. I know that there are many English spellings which relate to the original Latin, but given the enormous amount of French Barons installed here following the Norman Invasion, I'm pretty sure French would have had more of an influence on the accent of the Upper Class than Roman.

Was just kidding about the whole accent thing. ;)

Holy Moses, it's 8:05am! I gotta leave for work!

Is the same guy playing Octavian?

I think the Antony/Octavian thing will lead to another great season, though I think a third will be hard to achieve.

I just hope they don't kill off Brutus. :mischief:

Im looking forward to it, especially considering that this season I will get to see it (and Sopranos) in HD. I love the Atia chick, I look forward to checking her assets out in HD.

My minor nitpick is that every time I see Lucius I think of Tommy from Trainspotting... wierds me out.

Geeky and Pervy at the same time, good job Joyce! :goodjob:

I prefer skeevy, but thanks.
"Skeevy" added to the vocabulary :D

A programme as rude as Rome would have been fanatastic in my formulative years. Especially in HD. Instead I was forced to contend with taped copies of The Red Shoe Diaries. The image was so bad on VHS that you could hardly see what was going on. It cleared up after 60 seconds or so :mischief:
