Lucky you.. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, of course, but right after installing 1.52 I started seeing an increasing number of graphical glitches (point extensions creating enlongated triangles from horses, etc..) which ultimately led to my graphics card frying. Sitting idle at the desktop, the core reached just over 125 degrees celcius according to the Asus utility with the memory temp only a half-dozen degrees behind before the system shutdown.
Not cool..
Jeremy.
PS. What I saw of the patch before my graphics card died.. it was excellent! Can't wait for my new parts to arrive.
I'm glad to report a great improvement here too. My main problem was with intermittent sluggish performance, but especially so when the world is fully revealed by trading maps; typically it would take about 5 minutes (or more!) for the game to recover from this event on a standard map size but in my first long game today using the new patch it did so in... ohh, let me see {scratches head}, about 15 seconds?
I just installed 1.52 and haven't played a new game yet so I can't say whether I like it or not. The one thing I REALLY HATE is that the game I was currently playing is not compatible with the new version. You would think that Firaxis would have made them compatible.
