1.61 installing

I tried every "solution" I could find about the installation issues.

Civ4 workes fine since the start and I never had any problems with it.

My only issue is the installation of 1.61 patch.

I got a solution aswell Just give us/me the patch in a zipfile so i can unzip the new files to my civ4 directory and everything is fine and dandy.

ATM I get an message that I havent got civ4 installed... =cant install the patch

Well... I have googled a bit...

I used this tool to decompress the patch exe file:

I used this tool to decompress the data1.cab file:
http://www.foobarsoftware.com/zipscan_eval_setup.zip
http://files.cdmediaworld.com/i6comp.zip (copy the dll from this to zipscan directory)

I ended up with 600+ civ files. These can be copied to your civ4 directory. However, there are some extra files there as well... Let me just say, this is not the proper way. But as a last resort, worth trying. Especially for someone who knows what he's doing.

Well bah, I did all this. I have to admit I was oddly proud of myself for how to figure it all out....and now the game is asking me for the CD, and well....I downloaded it.

Any other ideas?
