I'm a North Carolina fan since my dad has raised me one.
Greg Paulaus is the new "ultimate dookie."
Ginger_Ale said:Duke, I am just attracted to them. It'll be interesting to see how they fare this year, especially losing Redick, but I think more importantly Sheldon Williams..
Azale said:I root for the underdog in the ACC games...they are always so fun to watch. So I guess that means alot of rooting for Duke/Maryland this year.
Texas basketball for me, of course I am really bad about following my team, so I'll tell you what I know after I see a few of thier gamesProbably a rebuilding year with Paulino & Aldridge gone, ohwell. Can't win every sport every year, hehehe.

shortguy said:This year should be intersting. Theoretically, we should be quite a bit better than last year. The thing is, we were a lot better than we should have been last year. So it remains to be seen whether last year was just a fluke, or that team was better than we all thought. In which case we have a real tourney shot, as long as the freshmen show up.
tcjsavannah said:Florida will underachieve this year but put about five guys in the NBA draft.
pawpaw said:Florida WAS NOT the best team last year--they were the BEST TEAM in March ( when it counts ) so when they are only good but not great this year, your right people will be like "whats wrong with them "
pawpaw said:Come on Shortguy, Virginia has had the same season 10 years in a row--let me walk you through it:
November--Virginia ranked and hopes high, go 10-0 beating up nobodies
December--Virginia rises as high as #15 before losing
Janunary--Virginia begins ACC plays and loses 9 of 10 games
Febuary--Virginia loses its last 4 games and in the first round of the ACC tourny and misses a NCAA bid and most years a NIT bid too.![]()
shortguy said:Um...? 10 years ago we were on the way down, then for Jeff Jones's last few years we were terrible, until 99ish when Gillen had a surprisingly good season followed by a good one (with an unfortunate loss to Gonzaga in the first round). The pattern you mention started then, and continued for 3-4 years until Gillen's last year, when the team was just simply bad. Then there was last year, where we were consistently good at home (Fordham excepted) but not so good away, and we won our first ACC tourny game but were embarassed NIT first round against Stanford.
So no, we haven't been having the same year for the last 10 years. Not even close, in fact.
