Already Midnight Madness and no threads? :wow:

Anyways, let's get ready to rumble. North Carolina is number 3 in the country, Greg Paulaus' foot is broken! :smug: :goodjob: :woohoo:

Let's go Tar Heels! Take us to the 'ship baby!

@ Al, I can't believe you are a Tarheel fan  . Why not Virginia or Maryland? I'm a Deamon Deacon fan myself :mischief: (my father played football there). I've been to alot of NC State games too, so I go for them occaisionally ;) .

Maryland sucks, they're annoying, especially their fans. Virginia sucks, and I hate them.

I'm a North Carolina fan since my dad has raised me one.

Greg Paulaus is the new "ultimate dookie."

I thought I liked you :scan: , now I'm sure of it ;) .

I root for the underdog in the ACC games...they are always so fun to watch. So I guess that means alot of rooting for Duke/Maryland this year.

Texas basketball for me, of course I am really bad about following my team, so I'll tell you what I know after I see a few of thier games :p Probably a rebuilding year with Paulino & Aldridge gone, ohwell. Can't win every sport every year, hehehe.

Getting ready for some ACC action. :D I'm rooting for the BC Eagles ("hometown" equivalent) and Duke, I am just attracted to them. It'll be interesting to see how they fare this year, especially losing Redick, but I think more importantly Sheldon Williams. I've got to go see the rankings, if they're out now...

People tend to not realize how much Williams helped Reddick--all those double teams in the post meant a lot of open jumpers for Reddick.

Kevin Durant is going to be good, I saw him play High School ball and he'll be a canindate for Frosh of the Year, behind Tyson Lawson and other Heels.

The horror!!

Can't argue about Duke, Maryland, or Maryland fans though.

This year should be intersting. Theoretically, we should be quite a bit better than last year. The thing is, we were a lot better than we should have been last year. So it remains to be seen whether last year was just a fluke, or that team was better than we all thought. In which case we have a real tourney shot, as long as the freshmen show up.

If you win one game over .500 in the ACC you'll get into the tournament...might be possible.

I've heard about Durant, I want to see him LIVE! When are the first games?

Come on Shortguy, Virginia has had the same season 10 years in a row--let me walk you through it:

November--Virginia ranked and hopes high, go 10-0 beating up nobodies
December--Virginia rises as high as #15 before losing
Janunary--Virginia begins ACC plays and loses 9 of 10 games
Febuary--Virginia loses its last 4 games and in the first round of the ACC tourny and misses a NCAA bid and most years a NIT bid too. :mischief:

Florida will underachieve this year but put about five guys in the NBA draft.

Florida WAS NOT the best team last year--they were the BEST TEAM in March ( when it counts ) so when they are only good but not great this year, your right people will be like "whats wrong with them "

Exactly, the best team last year was Villanova, followed by Duke and Connecticut, and North Carolina of course!

Um...? 10 years ago we were on the way down, then for Jeff Jones's last few years we were terrible, until 99ish when Gillen had a surprisingly good season followed by a good one (with an unfortunate loss to Gonzaga in the first round). The pattern you mention started then, and continued for 3-4 years until Gillen's last year, when the team was just simply bad. Then there was last year, where we were consistently good at home (Fordham excepted) but not so good away, and we won our first ACC tourny game but were embarassed NIT first round against Stanford.

So no, we haven't been having the same year for the last 10 years. Not even close, in fact.
