3.03 patch -- weird combat graphics?

Same problem here (combat animations having no discernable relationship to the actual progress of the battle).
At first I thought it was just when attacking with siege units, because it seems particularly pronounced with them. They almost always "kill" two defenders with their opening salvo, only to be smashed by the ghosts of the fallen. Once I started paying closer attention though, I realized that every combat was affected.
Highly annoying, but not game-ruining or anything, as I don't believe that the actual results of combat are any different. I presume it will be fixed in the next patch.

If it really bothers anyone, just switch off combat animations until it is fixed. I find that a better solution than to watch a battle happen which I know is flawed.

3500 GHz huh? That's some computer you've got :p. How well does it run BtS? ;)

Ditto on the combat bug... but the game actually runs w/o crashing now (which is a welcome tradeoff).

Also using Sovler's patch and upgraded to v3.03...

Yeah, it's the newest thing. You can get the same if you go inside your computer and scratch away the M (from Mhz) on your processor and replace it with a G. Civ will suddenly play a thousand times as fast. I guarantee it.

By the way, I will not feel responsible for anyone actually doing this and ruining their computer. I don't live in the USA, so I guess I cannot be sued by anyone crazy enough to do this. ;)

But what if my CPU looks like this? ;) Did I scratch too much?

When do you guys think we can expect a patch? I would assume it's an easy fix, just go over the few changes that 3.03 had and fix what went wrong, right?

I keep seeing allkinds of funky stuff now, Especially the mysterious archers popping out of nowhere. It seems there are an aditional 2 invisible archers in each unit. some really crappy animations to be sure, hopefully there is a fix or i will uninstall.

You're right. Maybe cutting numbers and letters out of the tape and arranging them back the way they were will help with cooling.

I hadn't thought about it that way. Maybe we should patent that idea!

(we're derailing this bug thread a bit, still good fun.)

I've got this too -- very annoying :( The victorious unit often appears to be the one that lost, until I read the text that says he had actually been victorious.

Seems pretty confirmed, but just jumping on the bandwagon. A friend and I were playing with 3.03 and were both seeing this.

Units dying, then re-appearing to continue fighting.

Additionally, the units falling down didn't seem to have anything to do with who actually won the battle. Often, I had two of my riflemen die immediately, then pop up again and kill all of the enemy units. Then get an end battle result of my units having been killed. While this happened with many units, it seemed universal with trebuchets. I think I lost about 8 of them without once seeing the graphic of them breaking and being destroyed. Possibly all siege weapons, but I was just using trebuchets at the time.

I'm getting the same bug.

I've figured out, kind of, what's going on - at least some of the time.

When a ranged attacker (which usually has 3 figures) engages another unit, figures will disappear until both sides have the same number of figures. So if a longbowman fights, say, a catapault, two longbowmen figures will disappear right off the back - but they'll come back if the catapault kills the figure it's fighting. If a longbowman is fighting another 3-figure unit (say, an axeman), and the longbowman kills one axeman figure, then the figure that just killed that figure will disappear, so that both sides have the same number of figures.

There are other things going on, but that one's consistent, at least on my computer.

Same problems, although i just bought it and patched it before i played it before. I am seeing this the the scenarios too, especially Final Frontier where i regularly destroy a ship and then re-aim at its invisible shell and continue to fight until the conclusion.

Hi there.

I've got the same bug and it kills the whole fun of playing bts. (german version)

I hope there will be fix for this . .. .. .. . soon. We've waited long enough!
