Shutting off autosave may shorten the turn. Some times just the save can be a couple of minutes with a huge map with 8192 units and 512 cities, I like to save after I'm finished my turn anyway, no use having it save twice per turn.

I feel sorry for people who have the one more turn syndrome and play on huge maps...

Btw, guys, just play rhye's mod, i play on huge maps now all the time because there is so little in between turn time
