I didn't touch the warhammer mod for three months and I had to install the new version. This time along with the magic mini mod.
I played as the High Elves and lasted 370 turns with no crashes. I was very surprised how smooth it was even when it's still in beta so great job guys!
Now my impression of the high elves.
The art is stunning and the detail that went into modeling these elves certainly shows and I definitely felt like playing as the high elves just like in the lore. However I was able to get so many Phoenix guards that I felt wait arent these the most elites of the troops? How come I have so many of them? The guards became the backbone of my army and I guess I felt it shouldn't be that way. Perhaps limit it to 5 instead of 10?
Also the Royal Guards, the warhammer universe is filled with lore, couldn't they be replaced with something with more edge to them? Perhaps the White Lions or the Dragon Princes? I understand about the models and all but having the name there would help so that I could imagine theyre the White Lions and not just generic Royal Guards.
There's a lack of heroes but I think those are in the plans and I am very much looking forward to seeing them.
After three months absence I am very glad to see how stable it is now and the magic mod definitely made my day. The only nitpick is the lack of lore and the missing text and not knowing exactly what all these spells do. Also the magic definitely made sieging cities ALOT easier.
Also High Elves using cannons felt a bit off.
As for some tech, like flight it didn't really do anything for the high elves. It probably helps other civs, but wouldn't having a little something for them make researching it worth while?
I am definitely looking for things to pick on because I enjoy this mod so much. Oh there is one thing though, I automate the workers and they don't like to build hamlets or cottages for some reason. Is it a known bug?
Anyways, thanks for the great mod. I would love to help more.
