40 posts or 20 posts?

I've come to the conclusion that no one but me views threads in the 40 post format, does anyone else look at threads in the 40 post format?

Defaults for me.

I always avoid the longest threads anyway, and never read them if I do post in them all the way through. Even the "1000 Clues" thread, I never read every page of it.

I've used 40 for quite some time. Works well except when trying to download something from the unit library since "page 12" is no longer page 12

I'd prefer setting mine to 100 than to 40, if it let me. Text-only documents load fast even if they're rather long, and it's really a nuisance having to click from page to page and back again trying to see what two people are arguing about sometimes.

The exception is things like the babe thread .. so attachement-heavy that it is slow to load at 40 when I am on a dialup, though it's fine at my office.

I use 40 posts per page. I set it right when I registered, because unlike some people, I actually pay attention to the options in the UserCP.

BTW, why didn't you include 5, 10, and 30 posts per page? I'm sure most people don't use them (although five posts per page seems interesting ), but hey, they're options...

The more posts you have per page, the slower the load time.

For many this doesn't matter, for others it does.

EDIT: I like 40, and so does my Cable Internet. They have 5, 10, 20, 30, and 40 though (who would use 5???)

Never knew about the 40 post thing, but just switched. It's much better, if you have DSL load times on things like these don't matter that much

I'm too lazy to change...so I use just the default 20 posts/page. Despite being on cable, this forum has a HUGE tendency to lag really bad, and even pages of all text can take forever to load at times.
