Hey out there!

I just want to know one thing: How do you get 5-6000 p. on chieftain level?

I've played a lot, and usally play on regent level. But points isn't my strongest competence in CIV.

Hope someone can give me an answer to follow :)

There's only really 2 ways you can do it. Either by 'Milking' the game, or going for a fast finish. For a decent fast finish score, all you need to do is:
Play a tiny map
With 2 opponents
Go the Aztecs
Only build Jag Warriors
Try and find the AI as soon as possible
Attack

In 10 minutes of playing, I can get a few 5000+ scores this way :)
You can get higher scores by milking, but it takes ages. It's a waste of time in my opinion.

You could always modify the high score log.

I think you'd be hard pressed to score higher than 5k on Chieftain, unless you "milk" the game. There is an article in the War Academy by SirPleb on maximizing score. The "early win" bonuses are multiplied by a factor based on the difficulty level, and you don't get much of a bonus at Chieftain.

IMO, Chieftain is for learning the mechanics of the game. If you're winning on Chieftain level at all, it's time to move up a level. ;)

Ok! Maybe you lauph, but what is "milking"?`

Hmm! What i usally do is to expand extremely aggressive from the beginning, make my people happy (allthough they don't always seems happy), by assigning 3 lux. in the macroeconomy. Sometimes though, i go with ultimate science, but THIS - does not give a high score.

Later in the game, i usally go baserk, and end so many civs i can. But at this stage, i'm far the greatest civ, and should (by my opinion) have thousands of points :D

I usally end regent with around 6-8000 p.

Sorry, that was rude of me to use a term you might not understand.

"Milking" is the process of maximizing score while dragging a game out all the way to 2050 A.D. The idea is to squeeze ("milk") as many points out of the game as possible in a "histographic" victory. This is why the highest scoring histographic victory in a Game of The Month gets the "Cow Award".

This is an oversimplification, but a milked game is divided into 2 phases: a conquest phase and an actual milking phase.

During the first phase, you want to basically kill off all AI but one (maybe two), and reduce that one to the point that they are no longer a factor in the game. You will have to keep one AI alive (to prevent a conquest victory) and some captured cities will need to be razed to stay under the domination limit.

Once you've got the AI effectively out of the game, it's time to concentrate on maximizing the score. The idea is to stay just barely under the domination limit and then maximize the number of happy citizens. In this phase of the game you seek to maximize population (particularly happy citizens) and squeeze ("milk") every possible point out of the game.

In the latter stages of the game it may be necessary to sell off some cultural improvements to prevent accidentally triggering a domination or cultural win.

Check out the Game of the Month spoiler threads and you'll find some writeups on milked games (as well as other win types). The game of the month website will also let you download finished games, so you can see the aftermath of various victory types by some pretty strong players.

I hope this helps.
