500 turn game limit

I started a game with standard options and have just hit the 500 turn limit. I would like to continue but the one more turn button doesn't work. Is this something I can change?

For this game, probably not.
But when start over, check your advance game setting. Make sure you do not check the "turn limit" option. that will force the game to end i guess, but i never try it in a real game.

Well, I'd like to know.
The game can go on forever, right? Or does it have a pre-set turn limit?

Your hands may be made by steel. I have never done more than 100 turns actually. It's boring and my hands are painful. I have played about 10 games in Civ5 so far and never done them all. At some point in the game I just decided to quit.

Go to advanced settings before starting a game and untick the time limit victory box. If your not leading on points by 2050 you can't carry on otherwise.

Thanks for the easy fix. To bad I already started my second game and I am at turn 200. I guess I am not like other gamers. I do not want to get faster and faster to win a game. I want to spend time enjoying the game. Heck when we played Risk when I was a kid as a family, we had some games that went on for weeks, playing 6-8 hours during the week.
