First of all; I've spent some time searching the forums for this, but can't find it anywhere - so sorry if it's been posted before.

I've seen GOTMs and other games with less than 60% water (i.e. 20%), and wanted to play a game like that myself. However, the only options for water, in the editor (when generating a new map) and in-game is 60/70/80%.

How do I change the water percentage to less than 60%? I hope someone can help me :)

You must make a scenario, and design the map so that it has the amount of water you want.

I've often found that the random setting will often generate maps that have a land dominant terrain. Sometimes it takes a few tries until this happens. If you are already in the editor, why not just add some additional land yourself? it's not that difficult.

I think the GOTM found ways to hack into the game. But, there are pangaea maps that stretch out to 55% water. Plus, there's always adding in more land to make it look like it was already there.

Well, obviously there wouldn't be a problem adding land, as I know my way around the editor - atleast to a certain extent..

However, I don't wanna see the map before I begin! That's the main excitement of starting a new game - venturing out into exploration of an unknown world..! This is the reason why I never create my own maps.

Of course, I could close my eyes and go ape wild with a 9x9 paintbrush in the editor - but needless to say; that wouldn't look pretty :p

Maybe someone knows about a downloadable map with a low percentage of water? Maybe even a Pangaea map?

Would help me a lot! :)
