And here comes another fine wonder from everyone's favorite friend, Straczynski: the Sagres Academy (aka Escola de Sagres, aka Henry's School of Navigation...)!

First, a small text for those of you who make no idea what this is... Use it as the Pedia description!

The Sagres Point, in southern Portugal, was at least as important during the Age of Discovery as Cape Canaveral was during the early years of space exploration. It was from that place that Prince Henry the Navigator came in the 15th century to work on his obsession to push back the frontiers of the known world, and opened Europe to the Great Discoveries.

Even tought the exact location of Henry's School of Navigation is not known nowadays(it is popularly believed to have been destroyed by an earthquake in 1755), on the past, it atracted the best scholars in Europe concerned with the nautical sciences. Under Henry's patronage, a community of brilliant scientists came there to teach and to study, and accumulated and correlated nautical knowledge as it was brought back by captains of successive voyages to once unknown places. The scholars in turn instructed less experienced captains about Atlantic currents and wind systems and the latest navigational methods.

At the Sagres Academy, among many important discoveries, Cartography was refined with the use of newly devised instruments, maps were regularly updated and extended, and a revolutionary type of vessel was designed: the caravel.

Now, a preview... I tried to make cliffs like the ones in Sagres. I guess they look nice, even tought not much like the real thing... Then, there's the Civ caravel with a Portuguese flag flying. I also tried to put a fortress there, but since I couldn't find any nice images of one...

Anyway, here's the preview:

cool

are you ever going to put SOM on the forums? I mean, I'm sure a lot of people would like you to post it before conquests.

Unfortunately, I just have to wait until C3C is out... I mean, I'm on my last few weeks on high school and the exams for admission on universities will begin right after that... Then, I must study hard for these tests...

And that means my mod will take a couple more months until it is complete...

Great Building! but there seem to be some palette problems in-game with the large civ-pedia icon. Would you be so kind to try to solve this problem if there's any time for it? Or am I the only one experiencing this?

(NOTICE: colors changed a bit because I had to convert to .jpg)

Well, sorry, but I'm not pallete-smart enough to solve that...

Anyone...? Please...? Pretty please...? :)

Here ya go. The problem is easy to fix, it's just that the two last colors in palette (in PSP. In photoshop I believe it's the two first) can't appear in the picture or they come out pink. I use pink and neon green as the two last colors so they are easy to pick out from the picture.

I didn't test these but I did a lot of this stuff back when I was making these graphics so I think I still have the hang of it. :)
