Welcome to the 6otM200 After Actions Report (AAR) thread.

STOP - Please do not continue reading this thread until you have completed and submitted your game.

In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss turn/date (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Please attach your victory save to your post. Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Please use spoiler tags for any surprise details you'd like kept hidden. Thank you.

If this is a replay, please indicate 'REPLAY' at the top of your post. If you conduct regular restarts, please indicate 'RELOADS' at the top of your post. More posting helps us all get play better as we understand the methods of others, but want to clearly distinguish between a first run through without reloads and other submissions as it is much harder to recover in game from the mistakes we all make.

Some questions to consider answering.
- What was your plan for achieving the VC? What are the major steps you planned to take? What events, if any, changed the plan in execution and to what new plan? Any interesting decision points?
- Where did you settle your capital and first few cities?
- What were your initial 5-10 builds in the capital or other early cities?

- Early order for technology/civics? What did you prioritize for technology/civics?
- How did the leader bonus and civ unique ability impact your plan/play, if at all?
- How many cities did you settle and/or capture?
- What were key production/purchase focuses? Military units / Civilian units / Districts & city development / Wonders / Civ Unique Unit & Infrastructure? Most critical or interesting?
- Pantheon chosen and why? Religious beliefs chosen, and why?
- What governments did you select? What key policy cards did you use? Why?
- Which Governors were most important; when and why?
- Was diplomacy/trading useful? How? Relations with other civs?
- When did you have Dark/Golden ages?
- How did the map affect your gameplay?
- Any surprises/frustration/elations you ran into, how did you deal with it?
- Did you enjoy your game?

Started with scout, scout, settler, settler as usual. I didn't expand quickly enough after that and all settlers was produced by my capital with magnus + ancestral hall. I tried building campuses instead of commercial hubs/harbours this game and it slowed me down a lot. The lack of culture, amenities and production was a real difference compared to the last game I played in 6otm199 with Scottland.
I was also planning on warring the AI but I think I started the war too late and didn't really benefit too much from the cities I conquered.
I think I played this map rather poorly, and with a different strategy I could finish this map quite a lot of turns quicker. Very useful experience though for the strategy for future games.

So I returned to civ6 again just for GOTM and pretty dissapointing t224, as this game screamed for subt200.
I failed totally on scouting, just because barbs popped just west and came with horses, of course boxed my scouts and killed them. I am used to deity, so did not expect only 3 units from a camp, and switched to too many warriors slingers, so I finished classical with 4 cities only, turn 100 at 9 cities, but the biggest factor was not knowing the map at all (at turn 100 I met only 4 AIs - or better to say they met me - and far too few city states) and as I result I did not get medieval golden age, which was huge problem (I was lacking literally a turn to complete a holy site).
Later I settled northern lands for unique luxuries.
Bad habit of playing mainly Cree and thus ignoring fresh water restrictions resulted in settling my 2nd expansion / GovPlaza city offwater directly on sugar :) so few turns wasted for granary and some builder charges to farm as well

Very peaceful, only 2 wars declared - first intervention against Vietnam, I joined to finally have some map uncovered, but revealed only Japan and few city states. Later also declaration on Vietnam using Japanese liberation CB to speed up nationalism. Of course I did not send a single unit.

The culture was a pain, even with 7 cities in range of Colloseum, so basically very limited with cards, running double adj from theatres, campuses and rationalism.
The other mistake was also campuses before traders (I run the whole game internal routes to gov/diplo Beijing) and skipping Geneva with my very few envoys. Anyway, quests were so unfriendly (great general, impossible eurekas etc), so in terms of City States I only focused on having constant suz over 2 sci and 2 trade (BTW, too late Kilwa, around t130). I basically ignored any civics that gave bonus envoys, as they were not on the path to Ideology :P While reaching tier4 government I was a suzerein of only 4, at the end of a game of 6 city states

Wonders: Colloseum, Kilwa, Mausoleum, Petra, Ruhr, Collosus, ForbPalace, Casa, BigBen, Amundsen, Maracana.
I kept basically all time on +3 ammenities in majority of cities, late game rising to +5 and more

Xian at 250 production (Ruhr hills), Beijing close to 200 (benefiting from 5 factories)

I would like to thank you all for this GOTM. I played peacefully. Only 3 cities. I wasn’t in a rush, so more to turn 250 that it ended. I would like to thank the other players who gave some comment about their game. It’s really appreciated. I’m going for the next GOTM today.
I will play civ 7 only if it’s fully patched, which will take Firaxis some more years. Up and untill then I will keep playing CIV 6.
