civilisation - new ideas and improvements

1 - place barracks outside city

2 - include vassilage but without the same leader - the original leader. If I take control of France Bapoleon is not the leader of the vassil state.

3 - provide challanges and internal dissent towards the government that we are playing with. Have internal pressure that can influence / force decisions when choosing system og government.

4 - Increase the influence of different government types with countries that have the same type of government and / or politically opposite forms of government. Fascists get on especially well with other type states but dont get on with communist etc states.

5 - can we have seasons in the game. just think of the battle for stalingrad without winter - the seasons are a great part of world history and military tactics.

6 - develope religion by the computer independent of the human player. the computer sends priests etc around the world to converte any and all people that they find.

7 - non-immortal leaders?

thats all for now.:king:leave a comment

Isn't 4 basically already in place? That's the Order/Autocracy/Freedom modifier. 6 is already a thing as well.

7 is impossible with civ5 level of leaders' graphics. You would have to make lots of them and the game would be impossibly heavy, don't letting anyone play.

Although, if I'm not wrong, Total War has this kind of thing. You even have families in the game. Check in this thread:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=479801

About 5: Total War also have climate and season mechanics when in battles.

1 - ?

2 - Not sure how this would work. Maybe some alternative form of conquering or maybe 'active' pupping. There was something similar in Alpha Centauri where if you heavily conquered an opponent they would offer to surrender to you and serve you for the rest of the game. Even after you got them to serve you they could still expand, research, build, and launch military operations just like any other faction.

3 - This could be interesting. But any effects would have to be temporary. In vanilla you couldn't go from Liberty --> Autocracy (IIRC) w/o consequences.

4 - Already in game.

5 - Would be pointless because a single turn could last centuries, especially early on. One thing I would perfer and would make some sense would be random events that can influence cities similar what is seen in Alpha Centauri or Galactic Civ2.

6 - Already in game.

7 - Eh, I can sorta see the 'family' angle of the game whereby you could select between a few long standing family that have existing within your empire from the beginning for some minor bonuses.

For instance,

Romanov's grant +5% bonus to generate a GG because of their long standing presence in the military.
Luther's grant +1 faith in the capital for longstanding religious servitude.
Tudor's grant +1 happiness in the capital because of long standing charitable efforts.

The effects could scale with era, and possibly with how long you've decided to use them. I.E. the longer you stick with 1 family the more powerful the effects for them will become.

The running of governments should be done differently - have like minded governments treat each other as 'most favored nation' offering special bonuses in trade and diplomacy etc etc

Religion: This would be better operated if it was completely managed by AI. Rewligious points can be gained when a state converts to a religion - but all religions are created and managed by the computer all we have to do is adhere to whatever religion we want to - and also here there could also be 'most favoured nation status' between like minded religion states. and if we could also have the possability of the various religions subdividing into smaller fractions (prodestants, evangelists etc) it would make things more challenging in managing internal politics and social policy.

The pointy of barracks in the city is that they must be able to hold more than one military unit and not have the soldiers sleeping outside the city in open country The minimum that we can do for our brave fighting lads is build them a permanet shelter outside the city (an non-city baracks) in which they can rest until being called in defence of the realm.

New point: Advanced military units could be approved and others added - nuclear submarine and long range missle launchers (re north korea and Iraq some years ago) long range balistic missles i think they are called

Can we have a diference between cities and capturedd cities For example englkand has its cities and everything else conqured becomes part of the empire but they are colonies and not English cities Could we have somethinbg similiar in the game - this would create the possibility of some cities fighting for independence

It would be nice to pacificly annex another state / city without having to use force (Germany an Austria 1938 for example).

and can we have barbarians that evolve independently controlled by the computer - they start of as barbarians as in the normal game but then develope into an independent civilisation all unified under one rule but spread out over the whole map. The developement of a barbarian society could begin later than the other computer controlled states - the barbarians are only barbarians until some one deveklopes stell (for example) and then they unify and develope themselves.

thats all for noel.:king:

hello again
ideas for A.I.
Nationalism - if the player takes a city or area controlled by the computer then the computer will place all its effort to re-take that area and not attack in another place far away from the original lost area.

It would be nice to have again the population of each area divided into various elements like in Civ IV (i.e. CityVille - population 100; 90% Italian, 7% French, 3% Croat)

Lets have a more perfect diplomatic system - why can't we swap cities and territory between states especially where the states confine?

Can we have a more detailed map as well, please.

Thats all for now but as more ideas come to mind I'll try to put them into words.

Gedemon has made a mod of Cultural division of cities, like in Civ IV.

Cool idea about the Nationalism, just has to be seem the flavor of the leaders to do that.
