So , with the latest version I play on Warlord instead of Prince because all the Civs are getting crazy building city after city in the most retarted spots . They are filling the map , almost competing in land KM . So I will show you my first 70 turns on a Warlord game and tell me if my strategy is wrong or the AI is really ******** .

By the way my first Civ ever is Civ 5 .

No barbs . I hate them . No ancient ruins , because the luckyest civ will be more advanced .

After I saw that i was going to play as the Iroquois , I was thinking about culture or dominate type of wins .

This is the starting location . I will move my warrior to the hill you see in the east to see if there`s more resources .

I meet the city-state of Hanoi and Montezuma ( he is being a jerk as always ) .

My first Policy will be Liberty for the expansion bonus .

After a few turns I meet Babylon and Spain after I founded my second city . I am working on the Pyramids and another scout . I bought in the second city a natural wonder (5 Culture Bonus if worked ) . I choosed the spot for the natural wonder and 3 additional silver .

Fair deal I suppose .

I entered a golden age . And I see a possible threat (Spain) .

The pyramids are ready .

My second policy is Citizienship , for the worker bonus combinated with the pyramids .

Stonehege ready , in the capital .

I place my third city near Gems . Fish and sheep . I can later expand to the nearby cattle . Montezuma sent me a warning about my expansion near his borders . Meanwhile Babylon offered me a pact of friendship , which i refused . I will wait untill a war starts so I can choose my side .

My tech tree at turn 70 . I sold an additional silver resource for 300gold to Spain . My third policy is Represation (+1 Culture per city) . I am in the Classical era , with the most points . The only threat now is Spain . Alot of cities already and counting .

What I can see is why did you take calender other than build the wonder. On warlord, yes you can usually get to is before other civs but on prince I almost never am able to build it in time. I also agree Aztecs got to go and Akkad looks like a good target if you have a sweet tooth.

Why are you building Pyramids and taking citizenship for 75% faster workers? You are going for a big empire and you want to build everything with few workers? If you're not going for that nor early expansion, I recommend you building early National college in capital for faster science. I can't give you advices if you don't say what do you expect from your game. Do you want culture victory or domination. I presume that you're going for culture. In that case, you don't need more than 3 good cities because of policy cost and in that case you don't need the Pyramids and citizenship, because you would need small empire and you caould build something else than Pyramids. But, don't take my advices granted, because I have just been getting into post patch civ and I still need to understand many game mechanics :).
