A 3D Space Opera game is in development!

Hello there! I am developing a 3D Master of Orion like game, and after having created a little engine capable of rendering planets, stars and so on, it is time for me to design the game. You can see some screenshots here (the graphics are not final).

If you also like this kind of games and would like to contribute in whatever way you can, (even by just contributing new ideas) please visit our forums . This may actually be the 3D answer to the FreeOrion project!

Don't you dare dumb this 3D version down like "they" dumbed down civ2 and created civ3.

Overall, it looks good! Here's what I suggest:

-Add a space elavator building

-Add a resource based economical model or system to be run. Our present day economic system works on the principle of scarcity (both real & artifical) but if you would use this model and apply all the abundant resources that would exist, this system would collapse. To better understand what I mean, read this quote or go here

As for raw minerals - I have entire Mars in my possession. If Mars is not enough - I have Asteroid Belt. If asteroids are not enough - I have sattelites of gas giants, some of them are the size of Luna. Gas giants themselves are almost entirely made of free thermonuclear fuel, which will be enough for millions of years. Can you imagine millions of years of free production and consumption of any things?
