So, I got my husband addicted to Civ. What a nice thing for a good wife to do. :goodjob: Now, to make life more interesting, as if it wasn't interesting enough with a 16-month-old daughter, we have devised a challenge.

Like GOTM, build a world with saving it on the first turn. No cheating or peaking at anyone else's work. How would you suggest we score our little challenge? We left all the victory conditions open. Everything else random. We figured whoever lost this round would choose the parameters for the second round. We plan on having three rounds total. Should we complete the game to retirement even though we have satisfied a victory condition earlier in the game in order to have a score to see who wins? Or is the winner the one who satisfies a victory condition first? So many questions, so little time.

Any and all advice would be appreciated. Maybe I'm too competitive....hhmmm, nah :D

Why not use GOTM's Jason scoring? I don't recall how it works, but I recall they have a bunch written up about it and perhaps a downloadable scorer.

Also, why not use the GOTM saves and compete with each other? The old GOTM saves are still available.

Also, if you read through the succession games discussions, some of those start with a map generated and/or previewed and approved by a knowledgable civ fan. Take one of those saves and compete on that.

By the way, do you have a single sister? ;)

Sorry, my sister is married. Good idea with the GOTM saves. I never even thought of that. And the scorer, too!
