A New Divine Intervention Game?

This seems like a cool idea, and I'd love to play one. But as a medium-skill first-time DI player, I'd rather play a god first.

I'm calling a spot. Give me a few minutes to choose a specific deity.




EDIT2: I guess some of you might not trust me, due to my 5 posts and early join date. Well, I simply left Civ4 for a while. I'm a good RPer, from PnP D&D and a bit of d20 Modern, plus some more freeform games. I've played one d20 game where we had 20 or so characters with a bunch of Divine Ranks each, but I had to leave that game pretty early on. :( But I do know about RPing a god.

EDIT3: I noticed that the game thread is more active. Will post when I catch up. Kilmorph is now my top choice

They let me join when i had 1 post to my name so you should be fine :p As someone said it's more about being able to roleplay when you are acting as a God. Contriputing to the story and so on.

The Game thread is more active. There is also a God thread now as well. When Verdian okay'd this being a alternate history and universe it opened up a lot more options for the Gods so Lgaard started it up to keep everyones idea's straight.

There might be some stuff in there that alters which God you want to be.

I know I missed the window for editing the map, but will it be OK if I give a quest before being officially approved?
 
I'd be willing to play a god, if any are available. This looks like fun. :)

EDIT: After looking at the list of available gods, Kilmorph might be interesting, but if someone has already claimed them, an up-to-date list of what gods are left would be nice. If it's none, then I'll just sit back and watch. No biggie. :)
 
Quite a few are available, but I called Kilmorph. Waiting for approval.

I saw that. Looks like Succellus is still available, and there is a lack of good gods. I'll choose him assuming a)he's not already taken and b)it's ok with Verdian.

Yeah the list is a bit out of date. Verdian is playing for the weekend and we had a rush of Gods join on the last day of intervening :mischief:

As Babale said a lot are available but the ones not mentioned...

Lets see the person who plays Agares God of Death wishes to change to the God of Hate. Babale is applying for Kilmorph God of Responsibility. Dean_The_Young is now Mammon and Diamond Eye is Agares. Someone else has also just said they want to be Lugus. (It will all probably get edited on monday) Hope that helps you and any others.

Sucelles or however you spell it :P he is free. Agares will open up. But Sucelles is an interesting one.

Verdian is away for now so you may as well wait untill monday to see what has happened in the first round. Any Quest you give may not be read by him untill then anyway, and he's probably allready finished playing this round.

Remember you don't need to deliver a quest to post something. You can just fashion a narrative introduction that shows how you are going to use your power as a God. Drop a few hints about what might happen in the future. Quite a few Gods have done that.

You need to keep your gods straight. Agares is the Angel of Dispair. Arawn is the God of Death, which is the spot that is opening up; however, Arawn made a pact to not intervene in Erebus at all, so that might not be a good choice(That is primarily the reaosn our current Arawn is switching to Aeron)
 
Of course, since this game isn't canon, he can always break the pact or have someone summon him in order to break the pact.... I think.

very, very, very unlikely, though... that'd go against his very character... and even if he were summoned into the world, he wouldn't go, and would refuse to do anything.
 
Hm, he happens to be the god I know the least about. Go figure... I guess I just never read as much about him compared to others.

Also, you guys noticed that we have an update?
 
I'll add Bootsiuv in as Succellus. The god list in the other thread is up to date. I am going to delete the one in this thread so I don't have to update two. :p

Thanks, sorry i don't know why i allways mix those two gods up.
