a new forum maybe??

i spend most time in the general forum for civ3, and i do see alot of threads about what might / should be in civ4 or the next expansion.
so i think there should be a new forum called
'future civ games'
or something like hat.
it might also help if when they are thinking of creating a new game, if they look in there they will find out alot of what people want or dont want.
any comments?
ps: if this has been suggested before then im sorry, but i jus thouight about it myself.

I believe its been mentioned before and hasn't really been included because it would be full of people posting Civ3 problems and that they should be improved. Plus Civ4 is probably along time away.

What's wrong with people saying what needs to be improved? And why does it matter that Civ4 is a long time away? Is posting ideas for a game one month away any better than for a game three years away? Of course, there might never be a Civ4, and anyone who posted in the forum would have wasted their time, but I don't think that that would be much of a problem.

I am all for this idea, although I imagine it might give moderators some extra work, so I can sort of see why TF might not want to do it.

Because it would degenerate into a spamfest of repeated topics, or conversely be pretty much empty as people don't even know what might be in Civ4... Okay it might be useful if someone from Firaxis actually read the suggestions and implemented but its not very likely.

All the moderators and TF would object: more forums - more headache, besides it doesn't seem to be so easy to moderate such a huge number of forums. I'm sure there hardly will appear a new forum in next six months.

I could see a Civ4 forum going up when we here the first whispers of the next game, but not at this point. I'd estimate Civ4 is a good 4 years away...

Civ4 is quite a few years off. I would possibly see a Civ4 forums sometime in 2005.

Thats not really a bad idea although it might spill over into OT occasionally and its unlikely that it would ever happen.

Start by banning people on random.

Then edit their posts, making the peacenicks argue for the use of nukes, and the warmongers to write long, mistyeyed letters of forgiving and understanding.

The start posting PM to posters, telling them in secret that they can say whatever and not be banned, or "pass on" fake PM's from other posters to infuriate our posters.

My God, you could have fun.

Ummonded forums proposals, including by me, have been REPEAYEDLY shot down by TF. That idea is about as ded as it can be at Civfanatics.
