A newbie player does a LP! Bismarck on Prince. Standard

Hello everyone. I'm one of those players who just picked this game up on the Steam Sale. I enjoy turned based strategy but I have never played a Civ Game before. I played through the tutorial, and I played a game on level 1 difficulty and won easily.

I have made two prior attempts on Prince. One is a total loss, and in the other I'm backed into a corner of the map with two countries invading me. I've been holding out for the last 100 turns while trying to grind out a science victory. I still might win, but only because it is Prince.

This game is a standard game, no mods, random map, random civ. I turned on quick moment and quick combat in an attempt to speed the game up. I think I'm missing a lot by doing that because I'm not advanced enough to look out for things, but it definitely speeds the game up!

Any advice is appreciated, but please take it easy on me, I'm a noob!

Edit: As a tease, I already have 6 parts in the can. And its shaping up to be a pretty good game. I'll try to talk more future videos after Part 6. I only just now decided to turn this game into a lets play.
