is that there is a special 'Orion section in this great forum . Have the first game since 2003 ; my first computer was a '94 model handed over by my older brother with a total of 5 MB , continiously return to game. Can't claim any mastery but generally ı can handle any problem through lustful use of the Moola cheat ; ı don't have enough honesty when engaging my own computer . Early in the game it helps a lot to have factories or colony ships earlier . My problem is ı have this impossible game ı end up in a corner and the artefacts are on the other side of the map; yes the alt-Galaxy thing . While ı can rapidly produce huge colony ships with reserve tanks , ı need planetology advances so that the Bulrathi won't occupy my stepping stones to southwest and kill my ships in the depths of space .So this haphazard and not too clean player wants to know whether there are means to get advances immediately .

it is just a fixatation on my part to get to those 3 planets first . ı have played the game about 6 times and the very first one was all okey , until ı noticed ı had misnamed a planet . ( r16 the fixated player names the colonies after Hollywood stars ) . So , another question is whether there is a way to rename planets after the human player makes his /her colony ?

I never never the Moola actually worked. I think that Oreo will let you change planet names.

got the artefacts first .It took about half a dozen more new starts and ı guess , 10 000 BC for each new colony ; 15 or so of them and extras for the old ones , let's say 100 000 for them as well ,what does it make ? ı typed Moola for 2500 times ?? It was worth it ...

unfortunately ı can't get to use the Oreo .Do ı write it at the Planets screen like Moola or somewhere else ?

2500 times, that sounds very tedious. Oreo is an editor for saved games. Probably a link some place or Google it. What do you need all that money for anyway?

If it's cheat codes that you're asking about, try alt-einstein. It's been quite some time since I even played MOO2, but I seem to recall that this will give you all techs immediately.

Never tried that one either, but I have heard of it. Anyway he is talking about Moo1 as Alt Galaxy was mentioned.

No it does not work for Moo1, the part I am not sure of is does it work for Moo2. I know it is suppose to be in the game.

ı have no internet at home and "modern" games that need the web connection do not work . ı had Empire Earth , Rise of Nations and a few others . In 2 weeks of playing , the inevitable result would be a black screen , the game would be running by itself but ı would see nothing . ı carried the computer to repair shops and nobody could do anything about it . But for the no-CD patches , Civ3 would be unavailable too . So , after 5 years ı currently live on a steady diet of Panzer General and good old Moo1 . And this last game was quite satisfactory .

ı had a save with me , not that it is really important but can we attach GAM files?

ı think it is actually a hard game , instead of the impossible ı first said and ı always play in huge galaxies to develop in peace . But the challenge ı gave to myself was to get to those 3 artefact planets first , the fourth nearby is too close to homeworlds. Without this precondition there is not much difficulty for the the experienced reload if done badly type player . ( ı like turn based games .) .Psilons , Darloks , Alkari , Bulrathi and Sakkras , what can go wrong ? As it is ı had to research in a quite balanced way , expand wildly and fight continiously with priorities changing every few turns . And the guy 10 parsecs away from my homeplanet ,well , ı really had to kill him . If anyone here personally knows the designers of the game please convey my thanks .Maybe a decade late but it is a great game .

Oreo ... yup. It has a bug, though. Whenever you try to change the name of a planet, its X coordinate automatically becomes zero. Make sure to remember the X coordinate before changing the name, so you can re-enter its original X coordinate value.

but just to try if ı did it right , this is the game that gave me aching fingers
