I have had a look around and there looks to me like there is 2 major groups GMR play about a turn a day. The other is civplayers a competitive game finish in 1 sitting however I am looking for something a bit different to these groups.

I am looking for a group that plays for fun helps each other get better. Talks on Skype (or something else). Plays at a fairly set times preferably weekends but might be able to make different days. If a game is not finished after hours and hours of playing. We can finish it off the next time of playing.

Do groups like this exist?

If you find something like that...let me know too. I've tried to start a couple of slower-paced GMR games, but I can never generate enough interest.

U need reliable players for that, so joining one of the existing groups - being it civplayers, the GMR groups, NQ group or so might be a good idea to find people.

There are groups that play "epic" games (I know a german one f.e.) but if you dont know these guys jost join existing groups to get to know people

NQ is another group which plays less competitive or war-focused games than civplayers. But if you don't want to finish in one sitting, that's not much help.

I'm the same as you guys, so basically what I did was start advertising for players here. I'm in a tricky time zone too, in New Zealand, but by being consistent and always showing up, I've built up a group of players I play with on a weekly basis. We play for about 2-3+ hours, then save and reload the following week.

If the time works, you're welcome to try one of these games when we start a new one. It's 8pm local, which I think is GMT +12. We've been playing on Saturdays lately.

If that doesn't fit your schedule, I'd advise you to do the same, put a thread up here with the play time and recruit players. You may have some people flake out on you at first, but if you persist, you'll get there.

People's schedules being what they are, at first although the start time was always the same, we'd negotiate the day on a week by week basis. But lately the same day each week has been working out. The perk of organising it all is you get to do what works for you.

Good luck!

Thanks Onan really helpful. If the the time zones stay the same for me that would be good I think that would be Saturday morning for me. Would have to check that to make sure. So if I am getting my time zones right I will join 1 of your game when you start another game.

Morning means you live in europe or africa. Early morning if you are living eastern america. Early afternoon in russia and the middle east. Evening between india and australia and the middle of the night if you live in the western parts of the americans.

Lies! I heard the birds singing your praise as the sun peaked across the horizon in the last session that we played.

Dont know exactly where you live but as far north as I live the birds start chirping at 4 in the morning in the summer. Whats your point? :p

Yeah, best shot is that we might finish the last session this Saturday, and of everyone is free to have double session this week, the next one may start on Sunday, if not most likely next Saturday. Just check that thread frequently if you are interested and reliable. Usually scheduling starts on Friday.

Let me count, can a game handle 7 players in this case?

I'd be interested in trying 7 or 8, just to see if G&K can cope. It might not tho, or it might be too laggy.

Also I think many of these players are happy to give you tips, though sometimes it might be after they kill you.

Oh we also don't use Skype or anything. That may be an option for some, but probably too noisy for my kids going to sleep about then.

Generally, I've seen a lot less problems with lag with G&K, so I'm looking forward to trying a bigger game out.
