Other than the stuff taking place in Ice (fleshing out of the Illians, scenarios) what are the chances of big changes occurring? This question comes from posting about spiders and webs and animals in general, but also from various threads where ideas start to get really out of hand.
By big things, I'm talking about new terrain types, techs, heroes, and stuff that would just take a good deal of programming to do. Is the plan, at this point, to keep things pretty much how they are with minor tweaks for balance and uniquness for each of the races?

To keep this from just being a dead thread with a simple answer of yes/no and no community discussion, what do other people feel is in biggest need of reworking at the moment? Tech trees? A certain religion? A certain race? My personal selection, at the moment, is animal spawning and viability into late game.

For the main mod, the announced plan is that there is a design document which has been in place since the beginning and it should be complete (as well as the mod) by the end of the year.

That doesn't keep them from inventing new things which are nifty and deciding to keep it (Tolerant), or seeing Mod-Mods which show quality addition that the main game could benefit from (Marnok's Dungeons).

Other than that... such threads are just good fodder for creating new Modders and subsequent mod-mods :)

From purely a fan perspective FFH seems to be almost feature locked at this time. You may see peripheral additions like the card game and Marnoks dungeons, but not much to the core game. Thats were as Xienwolf said mod mods are fleshing out and becoming quite fun (see the expanded mercenaries mod). These add much to the game and to be honest it adds life to FFH.

FfH2 getting a stable and permanent release is going to be excellent for Modmods of all sorts, especially ones with .dll changes. I bet a lot of people have big plans after the official release, I sure do. :)

Kael is working on lairs right now, using a lot of what Marnok already did. This will take the place of wilderness areas, it seems to be the best implementation of that.
There are a number of minor tweaks we're playing with for version .34, but minor tweaks to existing features are what you should expect, please don't take it personal if your great idea is passed over. (although I think there was a recent thread of new ideas that inspired Kael, I'll leave it a surprise, though.)

That being said, I could be totally surprised like I was with Somnium by some new idea of Kael's.

NK is right on. I'm a lot more interested in polish than I am in new features at this point. We know what the end game looks like and have for a while (more or less) and its way to late to deviate from that formula.

Polish isn't as sexy as new features, but its just as important.

But there are plenty of polish ideas brought up in threads that are really important. For example Im scratchign my head ont he kuriotates coastal problem right now. I've read all the suggestions and the concerns about the problem (the biggest one in my mind is non-coastal city kuriotates cant ever launch sea invasions). It definitly needs fixed, we just havent figured out a way we like yet (the team likes the unit that gets built in a city and can change to a boat at a tile by the sea).

Those are the sorts of issues we are most likely to focus on right now.
