well.... why not, it would help seperate our OT real threads, (like the RELIGOIUS threads....), and saeems to work VERY well on a forum a friend of mine showed (dont worry, I have no plans of converting, the word of byzantium, and the cataphract, has not yet taken firm root yet, besides that, I like it here :))

I think would be a good alternative to an OT split, not to mention fun...

and how to counter-act the destined uber-spamorific space taken? the forum "history" should be limited several pages, and after that they get deleted, or rather sacrificed upon the alter of TF :D

but what do you think?

This was done. It was called the Peanut Gallery and postcount there did not count. It was a shortlived thing.

Spam is a problem because it takes away from a thread's value. It can be humorous, but incessant is bad to the discussion it is interrupting. As far as postcount, I still wish TF would do away with PC. People fixate on it and it is not important. Some people want their own avatar so 300 is a magic number to them. Meh.

I prefer to have the nominally serious, but in reality, sllly, dicussion threads in OT, partially redeemed by some ammusming posts and threads.

The Federal Trade Commission has a SPAM forum but I think it’s not quite what Xen is looking for :p

Spam forum? POINTLESS.

If people didnt spam ^^^^^^ than we wouldn't need one. And we don't need one at that. If you feel like spamming, just join the chatroom and help me annoy.... *amuse everybody.

plus it would waste server space

There are many dedicated spam forums on the Internet. If the urge to spam is so bad, then maybe the spam-needy could register there to get their urges satisfied.

If its spam, a mod will kindly point that out and close the thread and/or ban you. Its what they do, nothing personal, So you should never admit its spam, that takes some of the fun out of it for the moderator. How would you like to be told what to do?

If there were no spam to detect, the mods would need some other task to occupy them. Perhaps they would start spell checking? We are far better off with the existing arrangement.

I might add that the forum she(three gueses on why I was interest in her forum ;):D) was joined to was ONLY 5000 members...

and while I did not want to join the forum for any reason other then talking to her outside of school, it made an impression on me...

particuraley in its moderater organization... very interesting for such a small site... and the very epitome of spam.... they just dont care that much around there, but apperntlly, have had to delete posts, threads, and images to keep everything rerasonable in this server space thing...

A SPAM forum. Isn't that what SF is for? <slighltly sarcastic slightly humorous>

what, site feedback?, odse that mean this was at one time an OT/spam forum?
