I was playing Spain. It was turn 3. This happened:
(In case it isn't clear, that is a grassy hill, next to a river, next to a mountain, with ocean access, and Lake Victoria two tiles away. LV is +6 food, which becomes +12 for Spain. Because of the 500 gold bonus, I had a settler there by turn 12.)
That actually isn't the full full story of course...
But it was an amazing start. It turned out to be a harder game than anticipated when it became clear there were no horses on my continent, and very few luxuries. But still lots of fun winning the lottery like that.
