In lieu of the promaotion of the game to the outside and of PWE's (Provo) request to remove inactive members from TNT list ...

and also my perceived inactivity of our own members in recent important polls (as requested by the game administrators) ... I have dug into everyone's past

Need Captain to PM and e-mail if still interested and maybe what is causing them to remain silent.

Tyrranus maybe should be moved up from the AWOL to Occaisional?..

Also, maybe double check the 'last activity' and send out emails. I'll be happy to do this, but it seems more like a team captain sort of thing.

KISS has 29 members now, and we technically have 25, of which only half are active.

CivGeneral - will you do this?

(If we don't hear from him - maybe you could do this in a day or so Peter?)

Also - I believe I DID vote in the "naming rules" poll. I protest being relegated to the just "active" list!!
(also - it looks like CivGeneral, Emp. Napoleon, and Kentharu ALL voted since you made this list. So I'll stick up for them also.)
:D

I wouldn't mind sending out the email. I'll do it tomorrow if we don't hear from CivGeneral first. I'll include the link to our forum.

I just checked the DNUTS' trade proposal poll, and we had 11 voters:
Azza
Cham
CH
Emp.
GenW
PG
Ybbor
Ken
Fe
Mel
Tyranus

Here, here, I post on CFC everyday, but I do not post in this forum every day...
Doesn't mean I am not following along

Good to know!... We are just trying to get a feel for who is still committed to MIA (as I'm sure you know, as you are following along :))

Even if someone isn't still following along, I don't see any harm in their continued status as citizens. Maybe we should put together a small newsletter, along the lines of Meleager's wonderfully enjoyable posts in the MIABlog.

That way, citizens who don't have time to wade through Chamnix's Voluminous Analyses, Fe3333au's Indignant Tirades, Kentharu's Spastic Blurtings, Peter Grimes' Self-Indulgent Philosophying, General_W's Pragmatic Phlegm, Classical_Hero's Terse Observations, and Rujikin's Polemic Snorts will have a digestible periodical to peruse :)

Good Idea. I have enough trouble keeping up with everyone myself. Expecially the Domestic Department for some reason :hmm:

Here's a prototype Newsletter. Please feel free to edit/delete/add to it. Dress it up, dress it down!... I'll send it to all 'inactive' players in about 7 hours or so.

Here's a little summary of what's been going on around Athens lately.

We now have 4 cities, and the first of out settlers from the settler factory is about to set out to found the fifth city. Number six will be founded 6 turns after that.

Our relations with KISS continue to go swimmingly. We are very fortunate to have landed on a continent populate by rational people. We are trying to hammer out a tech trade with DNUTS, but they are proving to be quite obstinate. We haven't yet made contact with TNT, but KISS has. We have learned that TNT and DNUTS are at war. We also know that TNT has enslaved a DNUT worker. I suspect they won't be able to get much owrk out of him.

Our research towards Republic contimues at a brisk pace. Writing and Masonry will be discovered next, and we will hopefully get Code of Laws and Philosophy from DNUTS.

We have reorganized the forum threads.
Empire Management contains links to the various Ministers' threads and Instructions to the president

Hall of Citizens contains links to the Citizen Registry, Absence List, and the Constitution in a spoiler

Foreign Department links to the KISS and DNUT embassies, chat logs, and Through the Looking Glass

Team Resources contains links to the Map Room, Tech List, and Resource List

Frivolous and Fun Stuff has the MIA PBEM game, Mafia game, Blogspot, Ouija Guild, and the various state-approved religions.

So if you haven't checked in for a while, I hope this summary was helpful. If you don't want to receive the Newsletter in the future, just send an email.

WTH??? That has to be the most confusing thing I have ever read. It is even more confusing that what "The Architect" said to Neo. Ergo.

I have sent out the first 'Newsletter'. It was sent to the 10 people listed under Inactive in the posts above. I did not send it to Tyranus, as there was a recent post.

@C_H: I know it came across in a confusing way- you must admit, sometimes we who post often get a little carried away with ourselves ;). I do not mean to say that I'd like to see fewer posts: Quite the contrary! The more discussion the better. But, speaking for myself, it's easy to forget this is just another game of Civ - (notwithstanding that it's the most exciting game I've ever played!). Check out the front page of SomethingAwful.com for 10/13/05 when you get a chance....

I have AIMed with togedude98 who is Imnzerg, he is infrequent due to current school and extra-curricula activity ... will possibly be more active during holidays.

In other words keep him on the citizen roll :D

EDIT ... You are a sick puppy Mr. Grimes ... ;)
