If the background music tracks are .mp3 's or anothert common type of file, could one not simply insert one's own music tracks? For example, it would be cool to have the "Gladiator" soundtrack playing, and a bunch of my North African and Sahara stuff, rather then the regular game tracks. Anyone ever done this or have ideas how to go about it?

Jason (of the Argonauts, of course :))

I just play Gladiator with winamp, and turn off the game music (ctrl+m?). Someone even wrote an interface to winamp that can be accessed in game for those who don't want to alt+tab.

This is easier and more flexible than modifying the game. For example when you want "The Battle" playing it's very easy in winamp, but the game just loops through the list of tracks in the current era. Is there a hot-key to switch tracks?
