With the bug with defending against enemy Air Power Im curious if I should save my game and then come back to it when the patch is out there. All my previous games have either been on a fairly easy setting or Ive been playing a peaceful nation.

However this time around Ive been playing the Chinese and will gladly go to war for land or resources or just to take a few notches out of the Russian army :)

I just built airpower and started my first wave of bombers, this means the rest of the world is probably only a couple turns away from bombers themselves or already have them and I just havent seen it!

I am curious just how bad the ability to not defend your cities is versus AI bombers? Am I going to get my cities smashed? Im playing on a standard map with the max civs so Im thinking one bomber could reach out and thump 2 or 3 cities.

Anyone want to share your thoughts on this as I do have Return to Castle Wolfenstein to entertain me till the patch!

When I wwas fighting against the greeks (Regent difficulty level) all they did was use the bombers to take out my roads and improvements around my city. They never used it on my cities. That might be because they were heavily fortified.

The AI is pretty good, but I find the AI is inept when it comes to using bombers. You're right, they rarely bomb cities. You'd think they'd do this just to blow up your 3000 yr old temple or take down some pop, but they don't. I would think they'd at least go for bombing my strategic resource squares to prevent me from using them, but they ignore them. Ground units are smart enough to pillage resources, not sure why bombers don't. But, no, they end up bombing some coastal road that isn't even of strategic value most of the time. It's annoying--and I can't wait for air superiority to get fixed in this weekend's patch release--but overall it managable.

The AI doesn't use bombers effectively. If they have jets nethier will you.
