Before I write it, I will say that I will be using Civilizations from Fall Further, Orbis, and Rise from Erebus.
ERA 1: Late Age of Rebirth
Ever since the Dwarves discovered gunpowder, their allies have started using it as well. Most good and neutral civilizations, such as Bannor, Palatinate, and Malakim started using gunpowder and using gunpowder based weapons. The sheer power of the black rock was clearly shown as the good nations, nearly obliterated their enemies. Since the Mechanos had already been using gunpowder far before any other of these good nations, their relations with them improved, and they joined the overcouncil. The overcouncil began to use gunpowder so much, that they made it a law that all armies had to use it as a standard weapon.
Some neutral nations were so afraid of it's sheer power that they joined the overcouncil to prevent being destroyed. These nations included the Hippus, Lanun, and Austrin. Some good and neutral nations didn't like the overcouncil using so much gunpowder. The Scions believed it would interfere with their plan. The Ljosalfar believed it would destroy their forests. The Elohim believed it would lead to a future of war and corruption. The Amurites thought it would lead to an age without magic and so on. Because of this, the Scions of Patria proposed to make an alliance of these good and neutral to defend themselves against the gunpowder-using civilizations, and to preserve the art of magic. They called this alliance the Pact of Avitas, where the deal was signed by the leaders of each nation. The alliance would grow to worship Ceridwen, the God of magic, and a formal religion was founded dedicated to worshiping her.
Meanwhile, evil nations were at the brink of being completely destroyed, and were willing to do anything to save themselves. The Shaeim decided to make a deal with the Infernal. Hyborem promised that their civilization would survive, just as long as they made their entire population turn into demons. They agreed, as did the Calabim and the Balseraphs. The "demonized" vampires turned into hideous winged bat creatures, called Klyros. Some evil civilizations, however didn't want this. The Illians, Doviello, and Svartalfar didn't want to become demons, and they helped the Illians summon the Frozen. Meanwhile, the Clan of Embers, Cualli, and the Archos fled to an island chain far away from any civilization to prevent a future of war. The only civilization who didn't join any alliance were the Jotnar.
Meanwhile, the civilizations of the overcouncil were falling under the sway of the Mechanos, and soon converted to the Machine Cult. There, they adopted several Mechanos customs and architectural styles, and all experienced an Industrial Revolution.
Meanwhile, Scion spies uncovered the spell the Frozen would use to make Taranis ascend as the new God of Winter. They used this spell to summon Ceridwen. As she discovered she was summoned by a neutral and all the evil acts of the other civilizations, she had no choice but to become a neutral goddess. This infuriated the evil nations. The Infernal used the spell to summon Agares, and the Illians used the spell to make Taranis ascend as the new God of Winter. Since all the alliances were summoning Gods, the overcouncil joined the band-wagon to summon the Mercurians, now armed with the overcouncil's most destructive invention, the rifle.
Nothing would be the same again......
