Agent Orange Game 2B

Since I'm the first player I'm the only one to see the scores after one full turn. To keep things fair and square I'll post the scores when something interesting happens.

And of course, the solution to the luxury riddle. It's a....... COW!

@ ERIKK :D

I can see it's going to be one of THOSE games.

Great. :D

Bring em on!

That picture is not edited ERIKK. Something very weird happened. I just noticed when you pointed out the growth/build numbers. I restarted and looked at my city advisor in horror..

 Do you all have this?

 If no, we need a restart after all

Strangely the comp says it's a regent level game when I start. Did everybody use Mel's workaround to load the game the 1st turn?

:hmm: strange! I don't get it yet!

"Normally" a wheat gives 3 food, a cow 3 food + 1 shield. A food plain would not give you a warrior in 10 turns...

If you start with a wheat you get:
- growth 7 turns, warrior 10 turns
If you start with a cow you get:
- growth 7 turns, warrior 5 turns
If start with a bonus grass tile you get:
- growth 10 turns, warrior 5 turns

What tile are you working on?

It isn't accelarated production either...

Argh! How is that possible!

Why do you get chieftain bonuses, when in the DDPP (a chieftain game) we don't? Whether we all have it or not, regardless of my starting location, I think this calls for a restart, since the production/growth bonus cause a major difference in gameplay and research will be at 4 turns for almost everybody regardless of how empires are managed.

I did use the difficulty turn-around and mailed plux that he should do the same (just like col did in my game), and in col's screenshot he's still at regent production/growth level.

@ERIKK: I think he's using a wheat, and since he only requires 10 food to grow on chieftain Persepolis grows in 4 turns.

Looks like he's on the cow (oo er missus).

Warrior for 5 shields?? I dont have that - see my start shot showing warrior in ten turns at one shield.

As Kemal points out, it's not the tile I'm working (it's the wheat one BTW) but it's the production bonus (you can see it in the screenshot) that's not like it should be.

First I thought the comp put me on AI deity bonus, but that's not it because I'm having 50% off instead of 40%. So I don't have the foggiest what's going on. I sure wish Firaxis would fix PBEM because this sucks big time.

I'll remake this afternoon, no workarounds as far as I'm concerned. Lets just pray it will work right.

A restart :D

Kemal and I are heart broken.

(Tell me how you did it Kemal and I'll settle up with you later ;) )

Yeah Kemal, fill us in cuz this makes my editing look like childs play!

I'll use the same settings and play order for the remake. Although it should be AO2C (like in c if it works this time) I'll call it 2B again.

@col: yes, I don't know how I've managed to pull this one off, but we'll talk later... ;)

@propain: it really is the advantage human player gets when playing at cheiftain: 50% less food required and 50% less shields required. you also get these bonuses at single player.

I am sure that this is accelerated production turned on, nothing else. Try starting a single player game with accelerated production, this is what you get.

Playing on cheiftain difficulty gives the AI a penalty on shields and food which is why they take so long to expand or build anything.

So we restart?

Oops! You're absolutely right of course, anarres.

Guess it shows that I haven't played a chieftain game in a very long time. (Actually I have never ever played a civ3 chiefain game in my life, guess that shows in my posts  ) :)

I didn't put accelerated production on for sure, also if I get it why don't you guys get it?? Ah well Firaxis programming I guess. For now I just swallow my losses and restart. I have this premonition I will be in the desert this time.....

No way!

Why is Col's Babylon growing in 10 turns and his warrior built in 10 turns then? I am sure he is using the fish tile (2 food 0 shields). Does ProPain have acc prod on and Col not? It looks more like a difficulty bug to me...

Hmm. I got accelerated production just like ProPain. And what you are seeing is accelerated production.

Someone must have messed up the load procedure....
