I noticed while playing that the AI sort of knows how to use their corporation Execs. They normally get it right but this time Toku kind of forgot to read the SDK! He just keeps building Executives, and setting them in his capitol! The best solution I can think of to this is to put a National unit limit of 3 like the missionaries have.

I've noticed this too. It happens when the AI's own cities are all corped up.

The AI should check for appropriate foreign targets before it decides to build execs.

check for
1 -enough money?
2 -are there foreign cities for which the following conditions apply
-target city can be reached
-foreign civ has appropriate civics
-there is an open border agreement
-foreign civ has right kind of resources
-if overseas > are there suitable transports available

There must be some kind of code like this in there because the AI doesn't build excessive amounts of missionaries.

there is a cap for missionaries - which there isn't for execs. The AI does do quite a few of those checks but there is one thing it misses: it checks for enough money when deciding to build an exec - which is nice and well - but that is at the beginning of the turn, when running universal suffrage - the AI often ends up with too little money at the end of the turn which would be when it would try to use the exec and this can lead to this wasteful building. Check out Bhruic's unofficial patch, he basically solved this by introducing a cap for execs as well :mischief:

Er, not really. I didn't put a cap in, I just "discouraged" the AI from building Executives when it had a fair amount already.

True, there is a cap for missionaries. I had forgotten about that.

I've got Bhruic's unnofficial patch but still India wound up with lots of execs.

Maybe this discouraging algoritm should be a little stronger? Bhruic?

 sorry - sorry I must have misremembered the discussion - thats what I get from responding before my first dozen :coffee: I keep on making that mistake :mischief:
