I'm posting this in the bugs section, cause for me it's one of them.
Classical era. Been asked to join a war with Elizabeth (a far away enemy). I accepted, but never fought.
Eventually, Elizabeth comes begging for peace, offering 1705 gold in exchange!!!!!!
I think, it MUST be a bug! How could she be so terrified by a non-existing war, to give me all her gold? And ALL that gold? And just after a few turns?
It's a huge amount of gold. And I'm not even sure she actually has all this gold. (the other civs have amounts around 100).
I'd check up the code, to assure it's an intended behaviour of the AI. But IMO, it is VERY odd!!

The game version is the latest (all patches and updates have been installed).
