AI civs offering deals that they can't agree to

In the game I'm playing, diplomacy has become very... shall we say... eccentric. I'll get messages from rival civs offering me a deal, but strangely, it also says that they can't agree to the deal they just offered (even though they initiated it). Even if I fiddle around with the terms of the deal, I often can't make it go through.

Also, sometimes it will say that the AI can agree to a proposal, but when I click the button, nothing happens. For example: a civ offers me a simple peace deal. Wanting more, I add an archaeological treasure to their column. It still says they'll agree to the deal, but when I click the button, nothing happens. However, if I remove the item, returning to the original simple peace offer, and click the button, then it does go through.

The same thing has been happening to me since the new download the other day. I took screenshots of 2 examples. These screens are exactly what came up when the leader popped up. The one with Barbarossa I clicked "make this deal more equitable" and nothing changed in the offer, but I was then able to accept it.

This ridiculous offer from Saladin I think has happened with every single leader in this game already - they request a great work, offering some gold and open borders, yet at the same time saying they can't accept the deal.

I may have some insight to a couple of these issues. They agree to a trade you can't complete. I was having this as well until I realized WHY. In most cases it was for great works/relics/antiques that there was no inventory room for. This happens with either party. If you are trying to get a great work and don't have anyplace to store it, they may agree to the trade but you cannot complete it. Same if you're offering them a great work and they have no place to put it. They may agree to the trade but it cannot happen as a result.

My issue has never involved an offer for an antique. In fact, I've never had an AI attempt to purchase art or antiques from me. The diplomacy is just completely whacked.

The following has even happened: the AI agrees to (usually a phenomenally one-sided) deal in exchange for one luxury. Out of curiousity, I add another luxury in my column, to see what would happen. All of a sudden, they won't accept the (new, better) deal!

It does appears they just added the AI offering trades for relics and such (which is broke). But as Mummies mentioned the grossly one sided trades just started too. It appears the trading AI is going to need a MAJOR tweak/fix after these addition.

It kind of happened to me. When I tried to come up with a peace treaty with America I could choose to get all their cities and luxury items in exchange for peace. It looked like they would accept it but nothing happens when I push the accept button. I played the new version as our new chubby queen.

I had this issue in my Nubia game as well.

Same thing for me. I just bargain peace with rome and they gave me the Tale of Ganji. Than Gilgamesh offer me gold and Gypsum to have it, but can't accept it.
I guess it's Gilgamesh's lacking of space for Chef d'oeuvres.

Same for me, but I also asked for the 2 artefacts (or great works) he own. As I only have place for one, nothing happend when I clicked accept. I remove 1 of them and it work.

Seen this a couple of times as well in Summer 2017 patch, no mods loaded, in a MP game, as has another human player in same game, e.g. open border plus gold for open border trade proposed by AI civ, I say Accept deal, AI civ responds it can't accept the deal it offered. Whatever, dude, close the trade window, game proceeds normally.

Happening here as well. AI suggesting "empty" deals where they're asking nothing from me and offering me something of their own, but they're not accepting it, as if you are asking freebies from them on your own initiative. A harmless but still an annoying bug.

Happens here to.

And another odd (I think) trade since the Summer patch: the AI offering to exchange works of writing (i.e. one work of writing against another) - am I missing a trick here or is that as pointless as it looks?

I would understand trading works of art to theme a museum (but the AI does not seem to do that at all, at prince difficulty at least).

Seems broken to me. I have these issues too. I only started playing 6 this past month with the current update. I had hoped that by waiting until now they would have most bugs fixed. I'm a little disappointed but enjoying overall.
