Thanks to the patch the AI now creates inquisitors, but is not able to utilize them properly.
They'll most likely attack your religious units with it, no matter if they'd win or loose. You could basically put an apostle outside their borders so that the attacking inquisitor wouldn't get the home/holy ground boni and convert the cities around by making the AI loose theological combat.
Similarly, like in the screenshot, the AI attempts to use the inquisitors as if they were apostles/missionaries, attempting to spread the religion instead of launching inquisition in their own cities (at that point I had on of their cities converted and a second one half way converted)
Inquisitor spam is probably happening, because it is a really cheap unit (which is good) but the AI doesn't grasp the concept of using them as defence rather than for offense.
