If I purchase a tech from an AI for GPT and then they declare war on me, does that ruin their rep and thus their ability to buy techs from other AI for GPT? In my current game, I have been buying techs and then having the AI's declare on me so I can get the techs for free. As long as I can keep my rep good and continue to make GPT deals, it seems that it would really slow the AI's trading a lot (level is deity) if they didn't respect each other's GPT deals. So far I have had 4 or 5 of them declare war on me without me losing my rep. Are my assumptions correct?

Since they are only receiving gpt, and not giving you any per turn deal, then they are the only ones loosing on breaking the deal, and their rep is not broken

Does it ruin their rep then if instead of trading Chemistry for 60gpt, you trade Chemistry and 1gpt for 61gpt and then have them declare war? Or is rep only broken if I was selling them something?

Only if you were selling them a lump sum item for GPT.

Now you could wait till you see an AI stack of doom approaching, then sign a deal where they give you gpt to ruin their rep, but that's not nearly as attractive. I did once manage to sign a ROP the turn before the AI sneak-attacked me, but I'm not sure it did any good, and it's a awful risk if the AI has a clear road to your undefended core cities.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I try to avoid AI->me gpt deals if at all possible.

For some reason I think the other AI players do not care about computer AI one.
Maybe they are always gracious between each other.
