So it seems my AI tycoons are on strike. Today I selected a multiplayer map and three AI opponents. Two did nothing the entire game- bought no train, laid no track. And one bought one train and laid one track.
Later I tried with two opponents at a higher difficulty setting. One did nothing and the other bought a double track from a coal mine to a city requiring coal. The double track was carefully laid out with a few switch overs. But he only bought one train! The entire game was spent with one train shuffling coal from the mine to the city. Not another train was purchased nor was any more track laid. But he kept bidding on things like tunnel shields and malleable rail.
This game is less fun without competition... guess I'll have to go online.
