Actually the afored mentioned article is somewhat out-dated with the discovereis made over the past years. The author really should get round to updating it.
BTW Boco, did you happen to try my DST 2.0? There seems to be very little response to its release.
Sadly, no. I've only just finished playtesting River War v4. Once Allard fixes a few small bugs, that'll be a gem!
Let me spend a few designing sessions on El Aurens v2 (gotta give my artist something in return for all of his work), and then I'll give it a whirl.
I suspect that the slow response to DST2 is due to both summer vacations and the changing demographics of the Civ2 community. I'm heading out of town soon myself. Most of the remaining Civ2 diehards are scenario designers who spend a large chunk of their time designing rather than playing. I had a hard real hard time getting testers for EA v1. Only had 3: one finished it, another had RL conflicts midway through, and the third was a true WWI general: he lost tons of units because he flailed away using traditional Civ2 tactics and didn't read the readme. All gave valuable feedback, though.
