I love the effectiveness of air units in this game. I believe that they have been improved by the increased effect that destroying improvments has on a civilization. Nearly everygame, even if I am not planning a war style play, I will build 4 carriers maxed out with fighters/jet fighters and a battleship/destroyer escort to persuade anyone to my opinions. The AI will fold under a constant onslaught of destroyed improvements around their major cities.

I also just love that you can station air units in friendly cities. Gives a whole new priority to making friends with your enemies neighbors.

The recon ability is not to be overlooked either. Great way to keep an eye on your neighbors during peace time, and also right before invasion. Any other ideas on using air power to its fullest?

Have yet to really exploit air power, but I've seen it's effectiveness when levied against me. I've seen their collateral damage and with their range, low interception, and high damage they beat the hell out of artillery. I intend to make full use of air superiority next game. Just a bit upset you can only station three squadrons on a carrier. Question, do you need to put one into a patrol on the carrier to deal with opponents or do they auto-scramble? And if you put one on patrol, do you get it's sight range if it's longer than any stacked units?

The units need to be on an Intercept mission to Intercept incoming attacks.

If your opponent has air power take two carriers in the stack - one with a full complement on Intercept, and the other to use for bombing runs.
