Algorithm for goody hut techs - randomness broken?

Huts are of no value on deity because they usually produce barbarians.

You can't get barbs if you do not have any military. In addition, in Vanilla on deity you can get settlers from goody huts. It is not even so unlikely, given that you're almost definitely going to be below the world wide average city count.
 
IMO the problem here is that your choices do not match your playing style and you are becoming frustrated because of the game mechanics you are trying to circumvent. The reason to go up in a difficulty level is to increase the challenge. The AI receives more and more benefits, and one of these benefits is that they get good stuff from GH and you get barbarians. It allows them to gain an even bigger AA leap over the player. They need these bonuses because you have found that you can :spank: them at will on Emperor. Otherwise, why play Deity other than boasting rights? If you habitually reload, then you are not really playing at Deity level anyway. Why not just play regent or monarch and not reload? Accept what happens and move on.

I'm not trying to hack on your playing style - play the game any way you want. Rather than trying to change deity level events, just play at a lower level and you'll get what you want.
 
Try a game without huts and no reloading.
 
I guess the fastest way to monarchy through huts is set reseach to alphabet.

Not that I would do it.
