Alice Marie Johnson to be Freed

If there is a bad law, which there apparently is since not only Alice Johnson but more than a hundred other people were doing life bits for non violent barely crimes, the appropriate response in a nation ruled by law is fix the law. Saying, "well, looks like bad law but letting less than one percent of the people harmed by it off, so long as I get to grin like a goon after making Kim Kardashian squirm, is all I'm gonna do about it" is not addressing the problem.

I agree... Thats where 'the rule of law' gets into trouble as a principle. If I was Prez my first act would be to clean out the prisons of people in there for drugs.

Yeezy be what Yeezy do. This isn't the most unusual slew of behaviour for Kanye.

He is a bit unusual ;) But I dont think its a coincidence he was out there complimenting Trump when Kim was headed down the path leading to this commutation.

That would be worth seeing. But it still doesn't address the problem, and tends to mask it. I mean, if Prez Berzerker just pardoned everybody is there really any need to do the hard work of fixing the law?

And that's the problem here. Rather than doing the hard work and facing the responsibilities associated with the rule of law, we are just clapping our hands because on this particular day dear leader's whimsical nature produced a good outcome. What are we going to do tomorrow, when we are back to the usual feces show that his whims usually produce? It's not like someone who was clapping today can say "but we aren't supposed to be operating on this clowns whims."

I wouldn't stop with pardons, I'd refuse to sign anything until the laws were changed. And until they are changed, I'd just keep pardoning people and redirect enforcement to deal with real crimes. Course I wouldn't get elected, so I'll take what we can get. If Trump's gonna get punched in the nose, let it be for the hypocrisy you've highlighted - how many more people are in her boat? How can he pardon her while others still rot in jail for the same 'crime'?

That's certainly a fine thing to punch him in the nose for, but hardly the only thing.

So if I find a sex tape celebrity with a giant butt, she could maybe convince Trump to stop the trade war? Is that how American democracy works these days?

If you could find one with under aged Russian hookers peeing !

I bet no one ever thought in their wildest dreams that one day we would be having a conversation where our two options were Trump or Kim Kardashian lol Wowzers! At least the Trump organization is known for employees who perform and come on time.

Even a math genius like Einstein couldn't have predicted this :)

If we keep going this way, eventually the US presidential race will be made up entirely of Reality TV stars. And the winner appoints a cabinet made up entirely of other Reality TV stars.
