Alien Crossfire - mods?

Hello all,

I've been playing Alpha Centauri since it came out until couple of years ago; I didn't quite because I was bored of it, but there were just too many flaws that made the game unbalanced. Still, it shows how much I love it for I played such a long time...

Anyway, recently I found ShiNing1's mod for Alpha Centauri, and that revived my wish to play the game; only now I've found out it was really for AC, not for Crossfire.

So, what I'm wondering and what I couldn't find out - is there a mod/add-on for Crossfire that balances the game? I'm not looking for some extreme added things, all I want is some balance.

Please let me know if there is such a mod.

If not, maybe some of you tried ShiNing1's mod on Crossfire as well?

The main problem is: neither of these two mods is finished.

Which makes me wonder: did you play them? I'm asking for your recommendation on which one to play, that is.

SMAniaC is finished. Hydro in the Apolyton forum has played it a lot.

I don't understand how you could draw the conclusion SMAniaC is unfinished.

It was posted as a gold version in Apolyton's files on July 31, 2006.

Is it possible to have some links of SMAniaC's mod because the links seem dead?
I can't wait to play with a boosted AI because the originals suck so that I always overrrun them by every aspect after 2200...a thing that doesn't exist in CivIV at deity.

I am now going through the CFC threads systematically seeing if my response is needed (I have been corresponding with Kilkakon a couple of weeks).
