All civs know conditions?

When you start the game, do other civilizations know the victory conditions?

That is, when you start the game... if you choose nothing but Cultural Victory, will some AI players still go after Science or Diplomatic, etc. ?

Or are they aware that the only way to win is Cultural Victory?

Good question, and I'd also like to know if they're aware of the map. If you choose pangea, will they de-emphasize navel tech from the start? If you're on Earth will they explore as though they already have a basic idea of where each landmass is?

And what about the resources and luxury items? In Civ 3 and 4, the AI knew where all of them were from the gitgo.

I don't think that they are that aware of their environments.

I don't think they just know the conditions. In civ4, I chose 'always peace' but AI still produced a huge army.
