Hello, I'm a newbie here, that is I just registered. :)

Reason for my registeration was that I wanted to search the forums for extracting the graphics from *.flc -files (so I searched for "flc"). It says that 4 characters is the minimum. Reduce this to three please!

I've been using a similar forum at AntiOnline.com, it has some nice additions you might want to get here too, like "Post Quick Reply" box at the end of the thread page.

I also wish someone will explain how to get those *.flc's extracted as I've already tried some three programs that claim to do it but didn't. I'll post a different thread about this question tomorrow if I don't get answers now (hmm, this is meant to be just a neutral sentence, for some reason it didn't sound very polite).

Edit/Add: Oh, you have the quick reply box also. Never mind then. I still think they've got something you don't, just can't tell yet what. :)

Try using wildcards in your search. Like, .flc** or something, I think.

And we already have a quick reply box! :p

I am GUESSING that shine the function words for advanced search (and, or, etc) are 2 and 3 letters, that this could be the reason for the limitation.

The main reason is shorter search terms require alot more server resource because the search databse is much greater. One letter makes a huge difference. :egypt:

Well, now that you mention it, I would like to search for all occurrances of the letter "e", and compare it to the occurences of the other 25 letters. This has statistical relevance in cryptology. Are there any secret patterns in this BBS? Reduce the search to one letter, and we shall see.... :).

We could have a lottery, about the number of times the letter "x" appears in the bbs say, by midnight on september 1st.

Lots of possibilities :D.

1 Trillion Times!;) MWHAAA! MWHAA! (What do you mean 1 trillion is small now adays?!) Fine! 1...whatever comes after a trillion...Times!:D

Ehh, I suggested this same thing in AntiOnline and it was changed and the server survived just fine.

Btw, you don't have a "Post a Quick Thread" box!

Searching for "Civ" and "Civ*" probably takes the same ammount of time. Maybe I should really change it to 3 letters. :)

That would be too convenient for spammers... :p

You could make it availaible only for users with like 50+ posts and/or increase the time after which one is able to post a new thread.

Those "< Last Thread Next Thread >" links should have the thread names under them.

(Btw, I found the thread about FLICker (or something like that) so no problems with flc-files anymore. :))
