Sometimes, I go into cheat mode just to do experiments.

For example, I stuck some barbarians and about 10 settlers from different civs on a little island to see what would happen, I don't really remember. I think the barbarians kinda killed a few of them before commiting suicide.

Another time, I gave the barbarians some nukes to watch them blow up everyone to smithereens.

Cheat mode is a great way to test theories. You can set up a situation and repeat it as many times as you want without having to grind through the game to reach that point. Save and reload is, also, great for testing results, like from popping a hut.

Yeah, I do stuff like that sometimes.

Another thing I like to do is, after I win the game (usually by colonization), I go into cheat mode and put Barb nukes outside the cities of whichever civ particularly annoyed me during the game.
