Yet another scenario Idea I intend on making. I'm not sure which one I will make first.

America in Flames will represent a new civil war in the modern era. Factions will be:

Federals
Religious Separatists
Socialists
Several City States

The U.S. government becomes entirely dominated by corporate interest. Due to foreign oursourcing and increased imports, the value of the American dollar dissolves and the economy collapses. The nation splits into various rival factions. The primary powers are the Federals backed by domestic and international corporations, Religious Separatists who believe the Federals are an antichrist identity, the Socialists who are adamantly opposed to corporate rule, and then various city states of whom are either neutral or friendly to one of the primary factions.

The list of scenarios/mods I want to create are:

America in Flames
WW2 Europe
Real Earth
Roman Empire

I was also thinking about making a scenario like this, although with more factions. Need to find a good standard-sized map of the US, though.

Sounds awesome! :goodjob:
Federals in the northeast/midwest, fundies and tea party types in the south(could have barbarian tribes all over the map allied with them, if possible), socialists on the west coast with most city states allied with them.
Maybe include Canada aiding the Federals, the UN aiding the socialists, and Mexico trying to reclaim the southwest.
Sorry, your mod, that is how I would try to do it.

No, it's cool. You're actually reading my mind. We're on the same page.

The nations seem.... limited.

Seriously, just three nations? Besides the 'Feds, they also seem far-fetched. Religious Zealots? Really? I mean, fine, we got the Tea Parties, but that's just taking it too far. Socalists are also strange, but not as much. Most importantly, where the heck are the separtists? I'm sure some certain states not happy with the Union would use this chaos to leave (Like, maybe Texas, for instance).

You just got the name of a WiF expansion. I was fooled there for a moment.

This is the way I see it. The Far-Rightist are split between Corporatists (the Federals) and Religious extremists. The Far-Leftists are the Socialists. Those are the predominant factions in America. Everyone else are miniscule. There will also be many city states in which to conduct diplomacy with. Too many playable factions would make it unrealistic to me, as I don't care about miniscule factions. I want just the big players to be playable.

Our heroes, the socialists :mischief:

Made this flag for fun a good while ago. Let me know if you want to use it in any way.

Or maybe it's too Soviet. :p

I am not sure why the Americans view socialism with such distain. I mean, Canada`s partly socialist and a lot of European countries are quite socialist. Do you see them in danger of being a new SSR?

Decades of Cold War anti-socialist/communist propaganda. :p

But don't veer off-topic!

Corporations are virulently opposed to socialism. American corporations are extremely powerful in their influence and propaganda ways. The supreme court recently ruled that there is no limitation in the amount of money corporations can contribute to political campaigns. Corporations outspend citizens by 30 to 1 in political contributions. The scenario I'm painting in America in Flames could become a reality one day.

So for city-states are we looking at New York City and Texas? Or other new ones? I like the fact that America can do both sides of the hyphen.

Also is simply a scenario with no additional tech or units? Just new civilizations and what not.

Federals - Washington DC, North East, perhaps some isolated Pro-Federal pockets in other regions.
Religious Separatists - Bible Belt (which includes Texas) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_Belt
Socialists - West Coast
Several City States - Some scattered major cities

Units? - You got to think about this realistically. There are US military and National Guard bases scattered all over the nation. Most military personnel try to get stationed near their home city, although not always successful, so we'll assume in this scenario that the military bases will take the side of the regional sentiment. Therefore, all factions will have their fair share of modern military weapons. In addition, there will also be paramilitary in the form of militia and guerrilla type units which will primarily be infantry. We could get creative and even create 'road warrior' type of barbarian units.

More realistically, you could have former military units that have broken free of the chain of command, gone rogue and are now roaming the countryside, using their weapons and vehicles for their own personal gain. Essentially modern marauders, but makes more sense than random civilians with freaky hair and American football armpads gone wrong. :crazyeye:

They could have a fixed promotion-like penalty that reduces their combat effectiveness, representing a degree of lost discipline, poorer command structure and lacking maintenance, to set them apart from the regular military elements.

Anything is possible at this point. Thanks for the idea.
