Good Morning,

Kind of new to Civ 5.... Trying to win a technology victory...

Here is my strategy to date.

1. Playing Americans on prince level, huge world.... 5billion years old, no barbarians, etc
2. Around me is 2 stone, 2 cotton.
3. Making beeline for GL
4. Building scout, scout warrior (no worker as there is nothing for it to do until after I get the GL)

Once I get writing for the GL, I will back fill the tech for the worker.

Couple of questions...
1. Is the GL really worth it? Aren't libraries just as good?
2. Do the Library add to the GL for a double bonus for techs?
3. What should I go for next?

Couple of questions...

1. I haven't played 154.1 so I can't say but in previous versions the GL could double your science rate and was absolutely worth it. However in recent versions even on king I haven't been able to get the GL (say my last 6-8 games or so) so I don't try anymore and take the pyramids and HG instead. So in short the GL is worth it IF you can get it.
2. You get a free library with the GL. Both provide their benefits but you can't build ANOTHER library standalone.
3. You have stone so I would go straight to masonry, quarry up the stone and build pyramids instead of trying for the GL. That would mean getting a worker sooner but I think it has a higher chance of success.
