An Annoying problem thart has left me completely mind boggled.

I've been playing civilization III since about mid August. I used to play it nearly everyday and completed near 100 games so far...

Now you can obviously see I love this game, but a problem has started. Suddenly, within the last month, the games font size, and I believe the font itself, has changed. I have tried reinstalling constently, I have checked everywhere for help, I have tried all I can just to fix this annoying problem, but I am stumped.

Here's a screen of the problem.

Now notice the increased font size and the copywrite blurp on the bottom is so large it's flowing off the screen.

This has been a major problem in game. When a diplomancy window appears I can't select any of the bottom options anymore since they flow off the screen! All my status windows are also nearly unreadable.

Please, some feedback on what has caused this problem will be greatly appreciated since I have no clue what could have caused it--I've installed nothing new within the last month.

I use windows XP, if that helps.

I had the same problem - the text on all the screens (except in the city screen) are too large and extend off the screen. The same copy of PTW was installed on my friend's laptop with no problem, and the original Civ3 worked fine on both. But when I put PTW on my computer, this problem happens. I have WinME [another problem : ) ]

Hey, how many years do I have to wait for a solution!

I'm still having this problem, and CIV3 is totally unplayable. Luckily CIV4 is here now.

From what i have read in other posts, the culprit is the number of fonts that your computer has stored for use. Find out where your OS stores its fonts, and make sure that you do not have more than 256; I have read that if you have more than that, the game does not reference the proper font, causing the problem you guys have referred to.

And thanks for telling me this. I actually uninstalled a few fronts, and the problem was solved. For the first time three years I can play CIV3!
